Labcyte Inc has introduced its award-winning compound reformatter, the Echo 550, based on the new "touchless" acoustic transfer technology. Labcyte Inc. also offers a mature and reliable product line consisting of automated pipetting workstations, "walk-away" microplate reagent dispensers and washers as well as a complete line of consumable labware for robotic instruments.
Labcyte Inc was formed in October of 2003 from the merger of Labcyte LLC and Picoliter Inc. The company's headquarter is based in Sunnyvale, California. Labcyte has locations around the San Francisco Bay Area and in Sweden.
Labcyte LLC History
Labcyte LLC began in 2000 in Union City, CA as a partnership between Axygen Scientific, Inc. and Arlena Research, LLC. to provide cost-effective instruments, laboratory consumables and integrated engineering services for laboratory applications in the life sciences marketplace.
Picoliter Inc. History
Picoliter Inc. was founded in 2000 to explore applications of acoustic drop ejection technology to the life sciences. Initially funded by its founders, the company raised $5.1 million in Series A from Delphi Ventures and Alloy Ventures in late 2000 and moved to Mountain View, CA. In 2002, a $22M Series B round was co-led by Abingworth and the Sprout Group, and the company moved to its present headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA.
