Echo™ 555 Acoustic Liquid Handler

The Labcyte® Echo™ 555 liquid handler provides twice the throughput of the award-winning Echo 550.
The Echo 555 performs direct microplate-to-microplate transfers of droplets down to 2.5 nanoliters using a new "touchless" transfer technology based on focused acoustic energy. Monitoring of acoustic energy reflected from well plate fluids enables the Echo 555 to measure the water content in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and measure well fluid volume.

The Echo 550 transfers 350,000 compounds directly to assay wells in 24 hours. The Echo 555 transfers 640,000 in the same time.

- Plate compressions or expansion
• from 384- or 1536-well source microplates
• to 96-, 384- or 1536-well destination microplates
- User-developed protocols:
• Transfer from any source well to any destination well (cherry-picking)
• Generate IC50 with direct dilution using variable numbers of drops
