Preddator Microplate Dispenser

The Preddator S1 single channel microplate dispenser is the base unit of a new set of instruments specifically designed to address the problems associated with low volume dispensing of bio chemical reagents, cells, beads, oils and surfactants. The system is supplied either as a stand alone system, custom pre-programmed for a range of standard microplates or with additional windows based software enabling the user to set their own library of microplates.

Preddator gives the operator ultimate control in allowing the selection of pressure and volume thus catering for varying viscosity and cell type. Preddators solenoid technology can deal with oils as easy as aqueous solutions.

Other benefits include virtually no foaming when dispensing surfactants and detergents, and cells can be dispensed with excellent viability. This groundbreaking technology was one of the winners of The Scientist's Top 10 Innovations 2010.

Preddator is primarily a research instrument and the system's open architecture software has been specifically devised to allow the operator to design any dispense pattern required. Preddator is ideal for many applications including HTS, MALDI, PCR and Protein Crystallography. Preddator delivers outstanding accuracy and precision with CV's less than 3% at 100nl dispensing human cells.

All Preddator models are fitted with a standard 0.3 mm orifice solenoid valve which will dispense volumes from 80 nl to 200 μl. To dispense volumes below 80 nl, a smaller 0.15 mm solenoid is required.

Preddator will fill any microtitre plate (MTP) up to 3'456 wells, and plates with peripheral evaporation wells and reservoirs. It comes preloaded with programmes in its flash memory for several main plate types.

Preddator can be used as a stand alone system or fully integrated into an automated platform. Redd & Whyte provide full communication protocols and work with clients and their integrators on a project by project basis where integration is required.

The single channel Preddator S1 is modular in design, so can be upgraded to the 4 channel Preddator S4 variant without the requirement to buy a new system and a full range of accessories are available for use with the system.
