Novel Microchip-Based Cell Sorting Technology

The WOLF sorter uses an on-chip piezoacoustic actuator that gently directs cells into collection channels. This unique system allows cell analysis and sorting to take place within a disposable chip. This eliminates sample-to-sample contamination and biohazard aerosols. An embedded cell sorting verification system gives instant feedback of sorting accuracy.

Maintain cell viability

Sort cells with greater confidence that they will survive and provide better results. The WOLF Cell Sorter uses a totally different approach compared to conventional jet-in-air cell sorters. This is critical for sensitive cells like Stem Cells where high pressures can damage cells and affect their biological behavior. With an on-chip fast valve, NanoCellect’s sorting mechanism gently guides cells into collection channels.

No dangerous aerosols

The sorting happens inside a microfluidic chip and therefore avoids the creation of dangerous aerosols normally emitted by traditional cell sorters. Smarter cell sorting allows greater flexibility in sorting human samples or samples normally requiring work in a hood.

WOLFViewer – Flow Cytometry Software

The WOLFViewer software has an intuitive workflow menu in the upper left corner that walks users through their experimental process. Novice users are guided step-by-step, while expert users can skip ahead and change settings in the Advanced Settings dropdown menu. New users can be performing their first sorts in about 30 minutes and can be on their own on day one.

Disposable Fluidics

Everything that the sample touches is sterile and disposable and gives you peace of mind that there will not be any contamination of your cells. When you are done, you can simply toss away. Whether you are developing CRISPR modified cell lines or difficult to grow samples, you can count on having sterile cartridges each time.

Unique to NanoCellect are our disposable cartridges that allow for bulk sorting, single-cell sorting, or analysis only.   • Cartridges are individually-wrapped in sterile packing to avoid cross contamination.
  • Anything that the sample or sheath fluid touches is disposable.

A CRISPR Study to Decipher the Role of Genetic Risk Variants in Glaucoma

This webinar will discuss a study that used CRISPR/Cas9 to engineer mice harboring risk variants associated with glaucoma in order to assess their functional relevance. 

Dr. Skowronska-Krawczyk will discuss how her team used NanoCellect’s WOLF Cell Sorter to sort the RGCs required for this study. The live, purified RGCs, isolated from retinas three days after intraocular pressure elevation, were assessed for transcriptional and epigenetic changes in the context of the SIX6 genetic variant. Sample preparation steps and bioinformatic analysis of the findings will also be presented.
